MagnaCleanse is a new flushing process designed to maintain and protect all domestic central heating systems from the damaging effects of iron oxide sludge build up. Not only does it clean the system, it provides ongoing protection for the boiler with the installation of a MagnaClean filter. This protection lasts throughout the lifetime of the boiler and helps to reduce central heating energy bills by up to 6%.

Do you ever wonder why your radiators are hot in certain areas and stone cold in others ? This could be on any part of the radiator – top ,middle or bottom . If so it is almost certain that your radiators in question are blocked . The blockage is caused by the breakdown , or rusting , internally of your radiators and over time this settles and eventually causes blockages in radiators and even your boiler . This is commonly referred to as sludge. This will cause less heat to be emitted from your boiler and hence radiators leaving you with a cold house and increasing gas bill . If you have a combination boiler it will also block the secondary heat exchanger and you will have limited hot water . Symptoms of this are your water going hot and cold whilst it is running and the only way you will get hot water is too closevthe hot tap to reduce the amount of water coming out of the tap .
We can help by carrying out a flush of your system and fitting a magnetic filter which will prevent any further issues in the future once your system has been cleansed .

One procedure for flushing your system is as follows – we will come and fit a magnetic filter, this is where the flushing kit is fitted across to carry out the flushing process. We will then add cleansing fluids to the system. The boiler is then fired up to heat the water and get the cleanser into and around the system . Once the system is as hot as it can get we begging to shut every radiator off leaving just one open. We then add another dose of cleanser and let this work it’s way round the one radiator . The radiator may need to be “agitated”to loosen the sludge.

Once the pipework runs clear from the magnetic filter and the radiator in its entirety is hot we move onto the next radiator. This is repeated until all radiators are piping hot. The system is then flushed through with fresh water to remove any cleansing chemical.

The magnetic filter is refitted and inhibitor is added to the system to prevent further corrosion in the system. Once the magna cleanse flush has been carried out you should see a vast improvement in the warmth and heat up time of your heating.

If we have to clean out the secondary heat exchanger this is done by physically removing the heat exchanger and cleaning.

Once this has been carried out you will notice your hot water delivery return to normal.
